Ora ho un etichetta per il 2016, che mi dichiara come "Artista". Now I've got a label for 2016, which defines me as "Artist". Ad mejora!

John Robinson by Franck, portrait in sanguigna, soft watercolor pastels, on custard rough paper, 70 x 60 cm, 2004/2005.  I think that this portrait gives the feeling of the last rays before Sunset in late Summer days.  I knew John Robinson thanks to "Elephant", 2003, the movie by Gus Van Sant. What touched me the most of him was the androgynous  look, his naive expression, his soft skin and brightness.  On custard-colored paper, I drew the portrait with sanguigna pencil, similar to the complexion. Then, the background was made with soft pastel powder. In the end, I colored the details of the face with soft watercolor pencils and letting come out the custard color of the paper with eraser. The slight wet watercolor pencils helped me to give the light of John's glance and the volume of the lips.    Credo che questo ritratto renda la sensazione degli ultimi raggi prima del calar del Sole negli ultimi giorni d'estate.  Ho conosciuto John Rob...
