Una volta, questo ragazzo ha visto il mio lavoro di KURT e mi ha commissionato il proprio ritratto. 

Voleva però che io disegnassi il suo corpo, escludendo il viso, perché lui pensava che l'unica cosa che avrebbe desiderato mostrare era il suo fisico atletico. 

Avevo dubbi per questa curiosa richiesta, perché penso che il volto sia un elemento essenziale di un ritratto, anche quando gli artisti decidono di ometterlo o di nasconderlo. Inoltre, trovavo il suo sorriso così rappresentativo di come lo avevo conosciuto che ho insistito a ritrarre anche il suo viso.

Ovviamente, ho acconsentito alla sua richiesta con il progetto di due quadri distinti: una cornice per il volto e un'altra per il corpo; eppure ho pensato di seguire il percorso dello sguardo come se si potesse osservare qualcosa così interessante che gli occhi riescono a scontornarlo per un istante. 

Così, ho creato TORSUS, una sorta di collage del suo corpo, dettaglio per dettaglio... 

Attraverso un passe-par-tout colorato, chiunque può dare uno sguardo su un corpo atletico, senza la spiacevole sensazione di un ritratto senza equilibrio. 

Inoltre, sono riuscita a mostrare alcune caratteristiche personali ed importanti - i tatuaggi ma soprattutto la collanina - due cose a cui Roberto teneva tantissimo. 

Once upon a time, this young man saw my work about KURT, and commissioned to me his own portrait. He expected me to portrait his body, but his face, because he thought that the only thing he'd love to show was his athletic look.

I was doubtful about his odd request, because I think that face is an essential element of portrait, even when artists decide whether to omit or to hide it . Moreover, I found his smile so expressive of him as I met him that I insisted about portraying also his face. 

Obviously, I allow his request in order to design two different pictures - one frame for his face and another for his body - but I thought to follow the way of the look as if you can look at something so interesting that your eye can frame it for a while. 

So, I created TORSUS, a sort of collage of his body, detail by detail... 

Through a passe-par-tout colored, anyone can have a glimpse of  an athletic body, without the unpleasant feeling of a bad-framing portrait. 

Moreover, I could show some personal, important characteristics - the tattoos and specially the necklace - two things which Roberto cared the most.
