On His Right Side

Sto iniziando un nuovo dipinto. S'intitola "On His Right Side", é il soggetto è preso dell'illustrazione in sanguigna della Via Crucis.

L'idea è quella di allestire un percorso di immagini nella mia parrocchia, San Cipriano in Roma, che raccontino alcune visioni di uno dei momenti più carichi di umanità e mistero dai Vangeli.

La Quaresima e il Triduo pasquale è un periodo che ha ispirato diverse arti, per la drammaticità dei temi e per il messaggio rivoluzionario della comprensione massima del divino per le sorti delle sue creature.

Il ciclo del teatro medievale inizia proprio con la messa in scena del "Quem Quaeritis?", dove un gruppo di monaci hanno inscenato il fatidico istante quando le tre Maria sono state fermate da stranieri che stavano nei campi, intorno al sepolcro di Gesù. Quella domanda in latino, "Chi cercate?",  ha segnato l'alba del teatro medievale, che poi avrebbe portato fino alle opere di Shakespeare.

Si può avere la propria sensibilità a riguardo della religione, che ciascuno dovrebbe rispettare, sia fra i credenti sia fra i non, che ci può far provare rifiuto o attrazione per alcuni soggetti artistici. Ma c'è un tesoro nella cultura e civiltà che è ipocrita e riduttivo evitare per preconcetto. 

I am just starting to paint a new work. It is called "On His Right Side" and the subject is taken fro the illustration of Via Crucis in sanguigne pencil. 

My idea is to create a path by images in the Parrish of San Cipriano in Rome, which tells few visions of one of the richest moments for humanity and mystery in the New Testaments. 

Lent and holy week of Easter is the time that has inspired several arts, because of the drama of the themes and of the revolutionary message about the total comprehension of the human condition on behalf of the divinity. 

Medieval theatre started just with the representation of the "Quem Quaeritis?", where a bunch of monks played that fatal moment when the three Mary were stopped by foreigners working in gardens near Jesus' thomb. That very question in latin, "Who are you looking for?", signed the birth of Medieval theatre that afterwards would have been lead till the works by Shakespeare. 

Anyone have their own feelings about religion, which thing should be respected both by believers and by not-believers, these feelings make one feel the sense of refuse or attraction about this kind of artistic subjects. 

But there is a treasure in culture and civilization which is hypocrite and reductive avoiding them by prejudice.
