For Lent and Easter time, four of my works are decorating the columns in the Parish St. Cipriano in Rome, XIV municipio.
I decided to show the pictures, inspired from the Via Crucis, wishing to create an atmosphere of meditation. As when I visualized them, people of the Parish may feel the change like something positive and new.
Per questo periodo di Quaresima e Pasqua, quattro miei lavori decorano le colonne della Parrocchia di San Cipriano a Roma, XIV municipio.
Ho deciso di esporre i dipinti, ispirati alla Via Crucis, con lo spirito di creare un'atmosfera di meditazione. Come quando li ho visualizzati, la gente della parrocchia mi auguro possa percepire il cambiamento come qualcosa di positivo e nuovo.

The first column on the left entrance of the parish is "Deposition", 13th Station, when Jesus is deposed from the Cross. Joseph of Arimathea is waiting for the corpse of Jesus, with a white sheet on his arms to cover him.
The second column on the left, just over the choir seats, shows "Jesus dies on the Cross", 12th Station. After having spoken his last sentence, Jesus breathes his spirit out.
Dall'entrata sinistra, alla prima colonna che si incontra, è appesa la "Deposizione", XIII Stazione, quando Gesù viene sceso dalla Croce. Giuseppe di Arimatea sta aspettando di ricevere il corpo di Gesù, con un lenzuolo bianco sulle braccia per avvolgerlo.
Sulla seconda colonna, invece, proprio sui posti per il coro, è esposto "Gesù muore sulla Croce", XII Stazione. Dopo aver pronunciato le sue ultime parole, Gesù esala il suo spirito.
On the other side, the first column on the right entrance of the parish, now there is a stamp of the 14th Station "Jesus is deposed into the Sepulcher". Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemo is attending at the rites to bury his corpse. The picture shows the two men in hurry for the arriving Saturday of the Easter, with the tension caused by the fact they were demanding to Romans the corpse of someone crucified and banned by his own community. At the moment, there is a stamp of my illustration; but soon I will show the painting.
Nearby the altar, on the column on the right, there is "On His Right Side" - the peaceful and radiating face of Jesus, who finally seats on the right side of his Father, after experienced slanders, pains and death. What I really would like to communicate with this picture is Christ's brotherhood, archaic smile, full of compassion and mercy towards the human beings. There is hope for all of us.
Dall'altro lato della chiesa, sulla prima colonna vicino all'entrata, ora c'è la stampa della XIV Stazione "Gesù è deposto nel Sepolcro". Giuseppe di Arimatea e Nicodemo si apprestano ai riti di sepoltura. Il quadro mostra i due uomini che cercano di sbrigarsi per l'approssimarsi del Sabato di Pasqua, ma pure con la tensione causata dal fatto di aver richiesto ai Romani il corpo di qualcuno crocifisso e bandito dalla sua stessa comunità. Per il momento, c'è solo una stampa della mia illustrazione in sanguigna; ma presto vi appenderò il dipinto.

I think that sharing the art is always an occasion to get a new point of view compared to routine - to experience ordinary life with unexpected elements that set people free from their mind cages. Therefore, the art gains her outrageous character - she is so simple and catches the attention from a different corner, beyond the everyday, flat, grey condition.
Penso che condividere l'arte sia sempre occasione per avere un nuovo punto di vista rispetto all'abitudine - provare nella vita di tutti i giorni elementi imprevisti che liberano le persone dalle loro gabbie mentali. Perciò l'arte si guadagna quel carattere "trasgressivo" - l'arte è semplice e cattura l'attenzione da una diversa angolatura, oltre la piatta grigia quotidianità.
Penso che condividere l'arte sia sempre occasione per avere un nuovo punto di vista rispetto all'abitudine - provare nella vita di tutti i giorni elementi imprevisti che liberano le persone dalle loro gabbie mentali. Perciò l'arte si guadagna quel carattere "trasgressivo" - l'arte è semplice e cattura l'attenzione da una diversa angolatura, oltre la piatta grigia quotidianità.
