Scent of Jasmine

🇮🇹 Il profumo del gelsomino, in particolare quello di Sicilia, è tipico delle notti d'estate. 

Il poeta Giovanni Pascoli scrisse un famoso sonetto Il gelsomino notturno, fatto di trepidante attesa, di pigolii di stelle, di segreti affetti e malinconia. 

Eppure, a me, questo fiore stellato e il suo profumo suggerisce sempre qualcosa di dolce e frizzante, un profumo di delizie e il colore giusto per me è stato questa specie di rosa carico, opaco, intenso. Certo, non nascondo che la confezione di Darjeleen Tea mi ha influenzato!

Ho preso anche spunto dai tanti stili di sketchbook floreali di artisti di tutte le nazioni. Una trama fatta di fiori stilizzati, che poco hanno a che vedere con la forma reale, ma piuttosto con la suggestione mentale del profumo, popolano questo schizzo che potrebbe essere la stampa di un foulard. 😊

🇬🇧 The scent of jasmine, specially the one from Sicily, is typical of summer nights, in Italy.

The poet Giovanni Pascoli  wrote a famous sonnet The night jasmine, which tells of trepidatious waiting, cheeping stars, secret love and melancholy. 

And then, for me, this star shaped flower and its scent always remind of something sweet and frizzy, perfume of delight and the right color is for me this kind of pink, saturated opaque intense. 

Certainly, I don't deny that the tin boxes of Darjeleen Tea influenced me a lot!

I have also take inspiration from the many stylish flowers in sketchbooks of many artists from all over the world. Patterns of stylized flowers don't have much to do with the real, natural form, rather with the mind suggestion of their scent - this design could be stamped on neckerchief. 😊
