🇮🇹 Sto provando nuove tecniche. Ho raccolto delle foglioline di edera per provare il frottage. È una tecnica parecchio semplice che può creare molte texture interessanti, semplicemente con una matita o i pastelli a matita.
La carta deve essere leggera, come quella per le fotocopie, altrimenti è difficile rendere la forma dell'oggetto e si passa la matita lievemente, ripassando sui bordi che man mano affiorano. Mi ha ricordato quei giochi che facevo con mio padre i pomeriggi di pioggia: prendevamo le monetine e iniziavamo a ricalcarle, ottenendo delle miniature perfette e colorate. Le lire avevano dei disegni davvero fantasiosi.
Ho riscoperto questa tecnica leggendo "Sketch book: manuale dinamico per catturare l'ispirazione su foglio". È un libro con idee divertenti, adatto a diverse età, che suggerisce metodi per riappropriarsi della creatività del disegno. Personalmente, non sono riuscita a seguire i vari capitoli, ma più per pigrizia che per le spiegazioni.
L'edera è simbolo di fedeltà e amicizia salda in diverse culture. Per gli antichi, toccandola si otteneva positività e furore profetico. Dopo, ha preso anche connotazioni negative, come sinonimo dell'arrampicatore sociale. Ha ispirato il personaggio dei fumetti di Batman Poison Ivy, ecoterrorista del 1966 e la cover dei Rolling Stones del '63, la rende protagonista di un attrazione pericolosa, molto simile alla descrizione della dipendenza.
🇬🇧 I am trying new techniques. I picked up some leafs of ivy to draw frottage. It is a very easy way to get interesting textures, simply with pastel colors and pencils.
It needs a copy sheet, otherwise it's difficult to let emerge the contour of the object. The pencil should color lightly, insisting on borders.
This method reminds me when I used to play at home, on the long rainy afternoons: I would draw the frottage from some coins, getting some perfect, colorful miniatures. Italian Lire had really fantastic drawings.
I found out again this technique, reading "JUST DRAW IT". It is a manual with funny ideas, fit to any age, which proposes tips to stimulate creativity through drawings. Personally, I didn't follow chapter by chapter this handbook, but rather for my laziness than for its instructions.
The meaning for Ivy is fidelity and steady friendship, in many cultures. According the Ancient Greeks and Romans, by touching its leafs, one could gain positive energy and prophetic lust. Thence, ivy goy negative connotations, becoming metaphor for social climber. This plant inspired the lethal character of Poison Ivy in Batman comics, in 1966, - a green academic researcher who became an ecoterrorist, - and in 1963, a popular cover song by the Rolling Stones, whose lyrics compare a girl called Poison Ivy to the effects of a dangerous attraction, very similar to the symptoms of addiction.
