🇮🇹 La musica degli U2 ha formato la mia generazione e ancora affascina tanti ragazzini. Penso che i loro testi esprimano qualcosa di profondo. Spesso sono come un flusso di coscienza: il refrain sembra una frase semplice, detta per caso; poi, strofa dopo strofa, aggiunge qualcosa ai versi iniziali; infine, si chiude come un cerchio, tutto sembra svelarsi. 

Io mi ritrovo a cantare ad alta voce, quelle parole che ora sono cariche di me, dell'esperienza della vita. 

Mi sono imbattuta in questa foto di Bono Vox su Internet, scattata da Mark Seliger. Volevo ritrarlo com'è ora, con i grandi occhiali che coprono i suoi occhi del mare freddo intorno all'Irlanda e in autunno. La luce del parco è accesa poco prima del tramonto.

Ho iniziato i contorni con una grafite HB 0.5 mm. Ho continuato a definire i volumi con una B e arrotondando con sfumino. I punti luce dati con una gomma da cancellare. 

Questo schizzo è stato ispirato dalla canzone degli U2 "Song for Someone", quando la mancanza di una persona svela il mistero dell'amore oltre la perdita. Con i suoi versi, Bono ha dato voce anche alla mia sofferenza e solo per questo sono grata alla creatività di questi musicisti: l'universo mi ha parlato attraverso di loro. 💙

🇬🇧 U2 has grown up my generation, and they're still charming many young people. I think that their lyrics express something deep. They sound like a consciousness flow: Refrain appears like simple words, pronounce by chance; then, verse to verse, something is adding to those first lines; at the end, a circle closes up and anything seems to reveal.

I find myself up singing aloud those words, which are now imbued with my story, my own experience of life. 

I broke into this photo of Bono Vox in the Net, shoot by Mark Seliger. I wanted to portray him as he looks today, wearing his big glasses that cover his eyes, the same color of the cold sea around Ireland, and in Autumn. Wonderful, the street lights have just turned up in the park at the sunset. 

I drew the contours of the figure with graphite HB 0.5 mm. Then, I defined the volume with pencil B and smoothed with blend. I gave the highlights with the rubber. 

This sketch of Bono Vox was inspired by U2 "Song for Someone", when missing one beloved person reveals the mystery of love beyond the sense of the loss. Through the lyrics, Bono gave voice to my pain too and, for that only, I am grateful to these musicians' creativity: Universe talks to me through them. 💙
