Metamorfosi - Acconciatura

🇮🇹 Metamorfosi è il lavoro di studio che sto facendo su un volto contemporaneo, sistemando l'acconciatura. Sul mio #sketchbook, il mio amico Damiano passa attraverso i secoli. 😜

So che ci sono delle App che eseguono questo lavoro in automatico, ma ho deciso di usare il disegno con la grafite, almeno per lo schizzo. Questa è solo un'idea del lavoro, anche se a una prima prova ero poco soddisfatta dei mezzi toni e dei volumi, che sembravano aver perso la somiglianza con Damiano. Per fortuna però si trattava solo di una "prova", perciò non mi sono arresa e alla fine il risultato mi ha soddisfatto. 

Sono riuscita a tradurre l'acconciatura della statua di quasi 25 secoli fa in treccine, boccoli e cerchietto di oro. Ho provato ad intuire come lo scultore etrusco - o greco, visto che per secoli gli studiosi hanno sospettato che fosse un'opera troppo raffinata e quindi eseguita solo da un artista ellenico - avesse tradotto l'acconciatura del dio Apollo. Molti considerano la lunghezza dei capelli come corpose trecce. Io invece ho notato anche i ciuffi alle basette. Inoltre, le ho paragonate con le treccine che scorrono sul capo, molto simili alle acconciature africane. La morbidezza e il volume mi hanno portato a supporre che boccoli fluenti avrebbero conferito uno stile unico ed elegante, più morbido. Il cerchio d'oro che delimita le treccine lungo il capo, avrebbe esaltato il libero fluire dei boccoli; anche i due boccoli sopra le basette, sembrano equilibrare il volume della capigliatura.
Basta aggiungere il trucco e la somiglianza è notevole, non è vero?

Io guardo la statua con un occhio artistico, non archeologico od antropologico. Cerco un equilibrio fra una visione ideale e l'essere umano al di sotto, per renderne la bellezza. Ecco perché mi sono divertita anche in questo studio di una metamorfosi.

🇬🇧 Metamorphosis is a preparatory work which I am comparing to a contemporary face, drawing the hair style. On my sketchbook, my friend Damiano is passing through the centuries. 😜
I know that there are some Apps that do it automatically, but I decided to use drawing with graphite, at the least for the sketch. This is only an idea of the work, even if at first sight I was not quite satisfied with its shades and volumes, that appeared to have lost Damiano's look-like. Fortunately, it was only a work in progress, so I did not stop at that step and went on sketching until I was satisfied of the drawing.
I decided to convert the Apollo's hair, looking at the statue of nearly 25 centuries ago, with all those little braids, curls, and gold headband. I tried to see how the Etruscan sculptor could have imagine the god Apollo's hairstyle - or Greek, as experts had believed for centuries that the statue was such a sophisticated artwork that only an Hellenic artist could have made it. Many ones consider the statue long hair as thick braids. Instead, I pointed out its side-whiskers, too. And then, I compared the long hair with those little braids that run along the head, very similar to the African hair-style. Their fluent softness and volume make me suppose that wavy curls could make them elegant and soft, and charming. Keeping the little braids along his head, the golden headband may exalt the fluent volume of the locks of hair; also the two side-whiskers seem to balance Apollo's hair. 
Well, I just drew the make-up and their resemblance is remarkable, isn't it? 😜
I look at the statue under an artistic view, neither archeologically or anthropologically.  I look at the balance between idealistic view and the human being underneath, in order to give back some beauty. That's why I was playing with the study this metamorphosis.
