🇮🇹 Have a Cup of Tea è il ritratto di Franca, la mia cugina britannica. 

Tante cose ci legano e solo la distanza ci ha tenuto separate. Il sorriso di Franca rappresenta il suo carattere: luminoso, alla ricerca della felicità ed estroverso. E così, con il calice alzato, mi è piaciuto ritrarla. Ho sempre notato in lei questa grazia un po' "old style" 😊 e la golosità da cui è circondata esprime bene la sua gioia di vivere, con un po' di humor che la rende leggera. La definizione che amava dare di sé era "The Crazy Girl", perché aveva sempre un eccesso di entusiasmo, la battuta veloce, l'attrazione per le bizzarie. Ora, è una donna e non so quanto di quella pazzia sia rimasta in lei, ma questo suo ritratto ad acquarello, spero abbia messo in evidenza quel lato very British ma insieme amichevole. 

Grazie alla corrispondenza che io ho ristabilito, ho reso la Gran Bretagna un po' più casa. E quando Franca mi dice che lei prova un'aria di casa con noi, be', è quello che sento anch'io con lei. 💞

🇬🇧 'Have a Cup of Tea' is the portrait of Franca, my British cousin. 

In many things we have a real bond even if distance teases us apart. Franca's smile well represents her personality: bright, always finding out happiness, and extroverted. And so, I'd like to paint her while making a toast. I have pointed out her grace, a little bit "Old Fashion" 😁, and delicacy around her expresses well her joy for life, with a pinch of humour that gives lightness. She used to describe herself as "The Crazy Girl", because she got excess of enthusiasm, smart speech, and appreciated for oddities. Now, she is a woman and I don't know how much of her madness remains, though I hope that this watercolour picture points out her being 'very British' and friendly too. 

Thanks to the fact I contacted Franca by mail, Great Britain has been becoming like home. And when Franca tells me that she feels like we are family, well, it is what I feel like about her. 💞
