Canto XXXIII_Paradiso

🇮🇹 Sto immaginando un dipinto ispirato dalla Divina Commedia di Dante Alighieri. 

Qualche giorno fa, ho provato a dare forma a quello che immaginavo negli ultimi versi misteriosi del XXXIII Canto del Paradiso. E così, ho concluso anche il mese di Luglio, pieno di creatività e idee. 😊

Quale descrizione più universale del divino: anche un ateo potrebbe essere d'accordo con i versi poetici di Dante. Le forze, la materia, il nulla si reggono su un mistero, un'energia motrice e creatrice, che nasconde ancora le sue leggi. 

Per secoli, la Commedia di Dante ha ispirato intellettuali, scrittori, scienziati, poeti, pittori. Se penso all'onda che ancora scuoteva un Pre-Romantico, visionario e mistico come il poeta inglese William Blake. 

L'idea per questo schizzo già erano mesi che si affacciava alla mia mente, ma per aspettare che diventasse matura, ho atteso fino a poche mattine fa, quando ho deciso di sfruttare le ultime strofe del Paradiso, quelle in cui Dante racconta di aver visto Dio, senza essere morto. In un arcobaleno di luce, tutti sospendiamo il respiro per ascoltare cosa vede il poeta. Un cerchio si chiude nell'altro e la vita continua. 

Allora ho pensato, perché non fare un fermo immagine e mettere tutti noi nei panni fortunati di Dante? 😉 

🇬🇧 I am fantasizing about painting something inspired by Dante Alighieri in the Divina Commedia. 

Some days ago, I tried to give a shape of what I have been imagining, reading the last mysterious lines in the XXXIII Chant of the Paradise. And, in that way, I also finished last July, full of creative ideas. 😊

What a universal description of the divine - also an atheist may agree with those lines by Dante. Forces, materia, anti-materia lay upon mystery, some moving and creative energy which has been still hiding its laws. 

For centuries, Divina Commedia has been inspiring intellectuals, writers, scientists, poets and painters. If only I think of the wave that shook a Pre-Romantic, visionary and mystic such as William Blake.

For months, the idea for my sketch have been already coming out on my mind, but I waited for its ripeness, I have been waiting until few mornings ago, when I decided to use the last lines of the Paradise, where Dante tells that he could look at God, while he was alive. In a raibow light, all the readers catch our breath to listen to what the poet could see. A circle closed inside another circle and life goes on... 

And then I thought - why don't we see a stop-motion and take the point of view of Dante? 😜
